Pushcha-Vodytsia, Administrative district and nature resort in northwestern Kyiv, Ukraine.
Pushcha-Vodytsia is a historic district in northwestern Kyiv that covers a forested area with pine woods, lakes, and natural paths. The streets run in parallel lines through the forest, forming a grid of 14 numbered routes.
Peter I established a forestry operation here in 1724, leading to disputes between two monasteries over the land. In the early 20th century the area grew as a retreat for city visitors seeking nature.
The name recalls the forest and springs that once drew travelers to rest. Today locals visit the 1910 church and walk the woodland paths that cut through the pines.
A historic tram line connects the district to the center of Kyiv, passing through forested landscape along the way. Visitors find walking trails and beaches at Gorashchiha lake with sandy shores.
The district houses government sanatoriums and cottages while the lake and forests remain open to the public. The numbered streets create an unusual pattern through the natural landscape.
