Muromets island, Kyiv

The 780-hectare Muromets Island features numerous trails along the Dnipro River with green spaces, sports facilities, and maintained paths for outdoor activities.

The territory became connected to the mainland when the Chertoroysky channel was blocked, transforming the former island into a peninsula accessible to visitors.

The island carries the name of Ilya Muromets, a central figure in Ukrainian folklore who, according to legends, freed the area from malevolent entities.

Visitors can access the area through the Northern Bridge and participate in activities including cycling, wakeboarding, kayaking, beach volleyball, and Segway tours.

The memorial garden contains fifteen distinct sections with specific plant varieties such as sycamore, Thunberg barberry, and English oaks representing different regions.
