The square was established in 1956 on the grounds of the former Gusinovsky Cemetery, which contained approximately 15,000 graves dating from the 1890s.

The square provides residents with accessible green spaces, children's play areas, and regularly maintained pathways for daily recreational activities.
The square transformed from a 19th-century cemetery into a public space, preserving the memory of past generations through memorial structures.
