The Lubomirski Palace stands on an island accessed by two bridges, with a drawbridge connecting it to the surrounding gardens and city.
The initial structure from the 15th century burned down in 1507, leading Princess Maria Nieswiecka to start construction of a new residence.
The palace grounds incorporated numerous architectural elements, including the Temple of Memories and an orangery within its extensive gardens and park.
Following its transfer to educational authorities in 1844, the palace served as an academic institution until its destruction by fire in 1927.
Military commander Tadeusz Kosciuszko stayed at the palace in late 1792, marking a notable period in the building's social history.
