Lubomirski Palace, Rivne

Lubomirski Palace is a former noble residence in Rivne built on an island surrounded by formal gardens and waterways. The main building was complemented by several smaller structures on the grounds, all connected to the surrounding city through multiple access points.

The original building from the 1400s was destroyed by fire in 1507, prompting Princess Maria Nieswiecka to rebuild the residence on the same site. Centuries later it transitioned to educational use and eventually burned again in 1927, ending its long existence.

The palace grounds were designed to showcase wealth through art and nature, with multiple pavilions and gardens arranged to impress visitors. Residents and guests used these spaces for celebrations and family gatherings, making the estate a center of social life in the region.

The palace grounds were reached by crossing several bridges that connected the island to the city, making it easy to reach from the main streets. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes as the pathways around the gardens and water features could be muddy or uneven depending on weather conditions.

Military commander Tadeusz Kosciuszko visited the residence in the late 1700s, marking an important moment in its social history. This visit shows how the palace served as a gathering place for influential figures of that era.
