Памятник детям — подневольным донорам

This memorial is located in the Kirovskyi district cemetery in Makiivka and consists of three black granite steles arranged in a row. The central stele features two carved angels supporting a cross, while the side steles display inscribed names and information about the victims.

This site commemorates events between 1942 and 1943, when German forces operated a concentration camp in the area. Blood was forcibly taken from children there for medical purposes.

The inscribed names on the side steles serve as a way for visitors to connect with the memory of these young victims. The site functions as a place for people to honor their loss and reflect on what happened.

The memorial is located within a cemetery and reached via a marked pathway that remains accessible year-round. A paved platform in front of the steles provides firm footing for visitors paying their respects.

Established in 2006, this is the only memorial worldwide specifically dedicated to children forced to donate blood during wartime. This singular purpose makes it a rare and important record of an overlooked tragedy.
