BT Tower, Communication tower in Fitzrovia, London, England
The BT Tower rises 189 meters into the London skyline with its cylindrical concrete structure and distinctive communications equipment at the top.
Built in 1964 by architect Eric Bedford, the tower served as the General Post Office's central hub for microwave telecommunications across London.
The revolving restaurant at the top floor attracted visitors and celebrities until 1980, making the tower a symbol of modern British innovation.
The structure contains 37 floors accessed by two elevators and maintains its role as a telecommunications center under British Telecom management.
In February 2024, MCR Hotels purchased the Grade II listed building with plans to transform it into a luxury hotel while preserving its structure.
