The Equitable Building is a 40-story office building in New York City, located at 120 Broadway between Pine and Cedar Streets.
Completed in 1915, the Equitable Building was one of the earliest skyscrapers and was briefly the largest office building in the world.
Its construction prompted the 1916 Zoning Resolution, which established limits on building massing for skyscrapers to allow sunlight to reach the streets below.
Today, it houses various companies and organizations, providing ample office space in the heart of the city.
Despite its height, the Equitable Building does not have a setback from the street beyond the fifth floor.
