Death and the Sculptor, Bronze sculpture at Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain, United States.

The sculpture depicts two figures against a relief background, with a winged woman representing Death gently touching a sculptor's hand.

Daniel Chester French created this memorial in 1893 to honor the Milmore brothers, Irish immigrants who contributed to American sculpture and stonework.

The bronze casting was executed in Paris by Gruet Foundry, with additional plaster versions distributed to museums across the United States.

Visitors can find this memorial sculpture near other artistic monuments within the cemetery grounds, which maintain regular visiting hours.

The sculpture earned French a third-class medal at the Champs de Mars Salon, marking early international recognition for American sculptural arts.
