Arkansas Governor's Mansion

The Arkansas Governor's Mansion is a large residential building with Georgian Revival style, featuring white columned walkways connecting the main house to a guest house and administrative offices. The grounds contain multiple connected buildings that together form a complete administrative and living complex.

The building was constructed after 1950 when the state decided to establish an official residence for the governor. It later became a significant seat of state administration and leadership.

The rooms display works of art and objects representing the state's artistic heritage and creative traditions. Walking through, you see how these pieces reflect the tastes and accomplishments of Arkansas communities.

Visitors can tour the residence only by advance booking and in small groups during weekday hours. You should plan ahead and check the available times before making the trip, as walk-ins are not permitted.

The building was constructed using approximately 300,000 bricks salvaged from an old school building that previously stood on this site. This reuse of materials ties the residence to the land's earlier purpose and local history.
