Oslofjord Tunnel, road tunnel in Frogn and Hurum, Norway
The Oslofjord Tunnel is an undersea road tunnel connecting two municipalities south of Oslo by passing underneath the fjord waters. The passage allows vehicles to cross the waterway directly rather than taking a longer route around the coast.
The tunnel was constructed and opened in the 2000s to improve transportation links between the southern communities. The project represented a major infrastructure investment for the region.
The tunnel provides a quick crossing for vehicles traveling between either side of the fjord without detours. Drivers should expect toll charges and the passage takes only a few minutes under normal conditions.
