Norwegian Armed Forces Aircraft Collection

The Norwegian Armed Forces Aircraft Collection displays approximately 40 historical aircraft in a dedicated exhibition space near Oslo Gardermoen Airport. The museum also features anti-aircraft weapons and military equipment from different eras.

The Norwegian Aviation Historical Society was founded in 1967 and began collecting aircraft housed in a former Luftwaffe hangar. The museum relocated to a newly built facility in 2000 to better accommodate its expanding collection.

The collection reflects how Norway developed its air defense over the decades through the aircraft and equipment on display. These machines tell the story of how the nation protected its skies during different periods.

The museum features a cafe, gift shop, and children's play area alongside free parking for visitors. The location near the airport makes it accessible and convenient for families and aviation enthusiasts alike.

Visitors can sit in the cockpit of an actual military jet fighter and experience the view from the pilot's seat. The collection spans from Norway's first aircraft in 1912 to modern supersonic jets, showing over a century of aviation progress.
