The museums, parks, and monuments of Gothenburg showcase the cultural heritage of Sweden's second-largest city. The Gothenburg Museum of Art displays Nordic art from the 15th century onward. The Haga district retains its traditional wooden houses. The canals and archipelago provide views of the maritime city. The Botanical Garden, the largest in Scandinavia, houses thousands of plant species. Historic buildings such as the cathedral and Kronhuset bear witness to 400 years of urban history.
