Saab Car Museum, Automobile museum in Trollhättan, Sweden.
The Saab Car Museum displays about 70 vehicles from a collection of 120 automobiles, including standard models, prototypes, and competition cars from various periods. The exhibition covers the full span of the company's production, from its early experiments to its later designs.
The collection originated when the company began making cars in 1947, building on decades of aircraft engineering expertise. After the company's bankruptcy in 2012, the vehicle collection was purchased and preserved by Trollhättan city, Saab AB, and the Wallenberg Foundation.
The first Saab 92001 prototype from 1947 marks the company's shift from aircraft manufacturing to car building, a turning point in Swedish industrial life. You can see how this change shaped the region and influenced people's relationship with engineering and innovation.
The museum is located in the Innovatum District and offers guided tours, many led by former Saab employees who share direct experience. An on-site restaurant lets you take a break and spend time comfortably during your visit.
The museum holds three Saab 9000 Turbo cars from a 1986 endurance testing program that set multiple world records. These specially tested vehicles represent performance achievements that are rarely seen in one place today.
