Fiholm Castle, Renaissance castle in Eskilstuna Municipality, Sweden
Fiholm Castle consists of two standing buildings designed in French-Dutch Renaissance style, located 20 kilometers west of Eskilstuna in Södermanland County.
Swedish statesman Axel Oxenstierna commissioned Fiholm Castle in 1640, with construction overseen by architect Nikodemus Tessin and completed in 1642.
The architecture of Fiholm Castle represents the design preferences of 17th-century Swedish nobility, incorporating French and Dutch Renaissance elements.
The castle grounds include a café and gift shop situated in a historical barn from 1864, offering visitors amenities during their exploration.
The two existing wings were intended to be part of a larger manor house that was never constructed, leaving an incomplete yet balanced architectural composition.
