Grenna Museum, Polar history museum in Gränna, Sweden
The Grenna Museum comprises two main sections: the Polarcenter with Arctic expedition artifacts and Franckska Gården displaying local heritage exhibitions.
The museum preserves items from S A Andrée's 1897 North Pole balloon expedition, which ended with the discovery of remains in 1930.
Exhibition rooms showcase the legacy of Amalia Eriksson, who created the traditional red and white striped Polkagrisar candy of Gränna.
The museum opens Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and weekends from noon to 4:00 PM, with free admission to Franckska Gården.
Visitors can access a computer connected to the Norwegian Polar Research Secretariat to monitor current Arctic research expeditions.
