Highvalley Skateworld, Skatepark in Högdalen, Stockholm, Sweden
Highvalley Skateworld, also known as Högdalen Skatepark, is an outdoor concrete skatepark in the Högdalen neighborhood of southern Stockholm. It features bowls of different shapes, a long ditch, a street section for technical skating, rails, and a dedicated area for younger skaters.
The park was designed by Pillar Studio and built by Artisan Skateparks, opening in 2012. Since then it has built a reputation as one of the most respected concrete parks in Sweden, drawing skaters from well beyond the local area.
The park takes its English name directly from the Swedish name of the neighborhood, since Högdalen means "High Valley." On any given afternoon, skaters of all ages share the space, with beginners watching and learning from those who are more experienced.
The park is open year-round at all hours and can be visited without prior booking, though equipment rental and courses are only available in spring and summer. The nearest subway stop is Högdalen on the green line, just a short walk away.
Every year the park hosts Bowlstock, a festival focused entirely on bowl skateboarding that draws competitors from across the country. During the event, the park fills with music and spectators, turning it into a very different place from its usual day-to-day feel.
