St. George's church, Slovenske Konjice

St. George's Church is a parish church and local monument in Slovenske Konjice that serves as the spiritual center for the community. The interior features a central altar adorned with statues of various saints including St. George, St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Hieronymus, and St. John the Baptist.

The church closed in 1784 during the reign of Joseph II of the Habsburg Empire, with its furnishings moved to other parishes. It reopened in 1799 and has continued serving the local community since then.

The walls display inset tombstones that tell stories of local families from past centuries. These carved stones, including heraldic inscriptions and figural epitaphs, show how this place served as a burial ground for the community's notable members.

The church sits in the center of Slovenske Konjice and is easily accessible on foot from the main streets. It remains open for regular services and welcomes visitors who wish to explore the interior and observe the religious and architectural features.

A Late Gothic holy water font from 1657 stands near the church entrance and displays a mermaid motif. This piece was a gift from the Tattenbach family and represents a rare example of decorative religious art from that era.
