Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, Greek Catholic metropolitan cathedral in Prešov, Slovakia.
The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist features a Baroque architectural design with three chapels and a nave adorned with four ceiling frescoes from 1757.
Originally built as a hospital chapel in the 14th century, the structure underwent transformation into a church in 1603 and received its current form between 1753 and 1754.
The cathedral serves as the main religious center for the Greek Catholic community and contains important religious artifacts, including a replica of the Turin Shroud.
Located at Hlavná 1 in Prešov, the cathedral underwent major renovations between 1994 and 1995, ensuring its preservation for current and future generations.
The cathedral houses relics of multiple saints and contains an extensive crypt where five bishops, canons, Minorites, and Jesuits rest.
