Architect Bohuslav Fuchs designed this Functionalist building in the 1930s with modern construction techniques and pipes for thermal water from the valley. Following decades of changes during the communist period, the facility underwent major renovation in 2015 while preserving its original structure.
The name 'Green Frog' refers to the greenish hue of the thermal pool, a reference that has stuck with locals for decades. The space continues to blend leisure bathing with physical activity, a combination that has always defined the center.
Thermal water is piped up from the source below, keeping it warm throughout the year even in colder months. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear as the access path is uphill and the ground surface can become very hot during summer.
