Nong Bua Lamphu, Administrative province in northeastern Thailand
Nong Bua Lamphu is a province in northeastern Thailand covering hills, rivers and rice paddies. Six districts form the administrative structure of this region marked by smaller towns and farmland.
The administrative unit emerged in 1993 through separation from Udon Thani province. This restructuring aimed to strengthen local governance and ease access to public services.
Residents maintain farming traditions rooted in rice cultivation and silk weaving. Temple festivals bring together locals and visitors, featuring music, dance and offerings.
Roads link the provincial capital with other northeastern towns and beyond. Buses run regularly between districts, making travel to larger regional cities possible.
The provincial emblem displays King Naresuan's shrine, recalling his 1574 visit. He gathered troops here for military campaigns against Burmese armies.
