Buchach townhall, Baroque town hall in Buchach, Ukraine.

Buchach town hall is a baroque administrative building standing in the town center with intricate stone carvings and multiple towers adorning its exterior. The symmetrical facade displays features typical of 18th-century European municipal structures, including decorative elements along walls and rooflines.

This structure was built between 1740 and 1750 under the direction of architect Bernard Meretyn and has shaped the town's appearance since then. A major fire in 1811 destroyed its original spire, but the decorative facade survived and remains intact today.

The building reflects the blend of Polish and Ukrainian architectural traditions visible in its overall design. Walking around it, you notice how both cultural influences appear in the details of doorways, window frames, and wall surfaces.

The town hall sits in the heart of the city center and is easy to reach by following the main streets of Buchach. The square surrounding it offers plenty of space to view the building, and morning light best reveals the detail in the stone carvings.

The elaborate stone carvings on the exterior walls were created by sculptor Johann Georg Pinsel and form one of the largest collections of baroque stone decorations in Eastern Europe. These sculptures demonstrate a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in the region.
