Крэсовское водохранилище, Stausee in der Ukraine
Kresovskoe Reservoir is a water storage facility in Dnipropetrovsk region in southern Ukraine. The body of water spans a considerable area with green shorelines and serves regional water supply needs while helping to regulate water levels in the Inhulets River.
The reservoir began operations in the late 1920s with the construction of a dam to provide electricity for the region, followed by an expansion in 1948. During World War II, the site played a critical role when Soviet soldiers under officer Arkadiy Shurupov prevented German forces from destroying it as planned.
The reservoir is easily accessible and visited regularly by locals for fishing and shoreline walks. The area offers parking spots and small cafes nearby where visitors can purchase refreshments or rest before exploring the surroundings.
