World Trade Center, Twin towers in New York City
The World Trade Center was a complex with seven buildings and its twin towers were iconic symbols of New York City.
Opened on April 4, 1973, the World Trade Center was destroyed in the September 11 attacks in 2001.
The World Trade Center has been featured in numerous films and artwork due to its distinct architecture.
The World Trade Center site is now home to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
At the time of their completion, the Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world.
