National September 11 Memorial & Museum, 9/11 Memorial in New York City
The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.
The memorial was dedicated on the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
It has become an important place for American citizens to remember and reflect on the events of that day.
The museum is located at the World Trade Center site, within the heart of New York City.
The memorial features two enormous waterfalls and reflecting pools, each about an acre in size, set within the footprints of the original Twin Towers.
