Middlesex Fells Reservation

The Middlesex Fells Reservation spans 2,200 acres across five Massachusetts towns, featuring extensive trail networks and multiple reservoirs within its boundaries.

John Winthrop explored this land in 1632, which later supported numerous industries including timber harvesting, granite production, and rubber manufacturing facilities.

The reservation became a metropolitan park in 1893, transforming from industrial grounds to a natural space that preserves local watersheds and forests.

Visitors access more than 100 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, with additional facilities for fishing and sailing at Spot Pond.

The Sheepfold Meadow section contains a 10-acre open field where dogs can run without leashes, surrounded by dense forest and rocky terrain.
