Church of the Holy Family, National Register of Historic Places church in Eveleth, United States

The Church of the Holy Family is a Gothic brick structure located on Adams Avenue, designed by architect A.F. Wasielewski. The building displays characteristic Gothic features with red brick and detailed architectural elements from that era.

This structure was built in 1909 to serve the Slovene American community and became an important religious center for the region. It represents one of only a handful of churches built in the United States specifically for Slovene immigrant congregations.

This church serves as a spiritual center for the Slovene American community that settled in this mining region. It reflects the faith and identity of immigrants who made this area their home and gathered here for worship.

The building sits in a residential neighborhood and is easily accessible on foot, featuring distinctive Gothic elements visible from the outside. Visitors can best explore the architecture during daytime when light highlights the details of the red brick facade.

Before the current structure was built, clergy held services in a modest wooden building that had served the congregation since 1899. This early phase shows how the Slovene community initially practiced their faith in simple spaces before constructing a permanent house of worship.
