Burgruine Klingenberg, Medieval castle ruin in Sankt Thomas am Blasenstein, Austria.
The castle remains stand at 707 meters elevation on a steep rocky outcrop, featuring a three-level structure with an outer courtyard and bailey.
Built in the 11th century by the Perg-Machländer nobility, the castle passed to the Clam-Velburg family until Count Ulrich disappeared during the 1217 Crusades.
The castle's defensive design includes a 24-meter high keep and massive southern ring wall, representing medieval Austrian military architecture.
Visitors can reach the ruins through a 15.7-kilometer hiking trail from Sankt Thomas am Blasenstein, with an elevation gain of 537 meters.
The castle's deep well, which originally extended 118 meters into the ground, has been cleared to a depth of 12 meters for preservation.
