Schloss Rohrau, Renaissance castle in Rohrau, Austria
The castle features multiple wings surrounding a central courtyard, with architectural elements from various historical periods throughout its structure.
The castle's origins date to the 11th century when Agnes of Poitou granted these lands to Count Palatine Rapoto V of Bavaria.
The Graf Harrach collection within the castle contains numerous European paintings gathered over centuries by generations of noble families.
Visitors can explore the castle and its art collection from March to November, Tuesday through Sunday between 10:00 and 17:00.
In 2006, thieves stole 16 valuable paintings from the castle's collection, including works attributed to Rembrandt and Rubens.
