Haydn's birthplace

Haydn's birthplace is an old farmhouse with rooms showing how a rural family lived in the 18th century. The furnishings and displayed objects give a sense of how people lived and worked during that period.

The house was built in 1728 by the composer's father, a craftsman and village official of that time. Joseph Haydn was born here in 1732 and spent his early years in this home.
