Haus der Natur Salzburg, Science museum in Altstadt, Salzburg, Austria
The Haus der Natur extends across eight levels in two buildings, presenting natural history exhibitions and a modern science center through 7,000 square meters.
Originally established in 1924 as a natural science institution, the museum relocated to the Ursulinenkloster building in 1959, designed by Fischer von Erlach between 1713 and 1726.
The museum maintains scientific working groups dedicated to entomology, herpetology, ornithology, mineralogy, paleontology, botany, and astronomy research.
The museum welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with adult admission at 12 euros and reduced rates for children, students, seniors, and groups of ten or more.
The biodiversity database contains 1,400,000 records documenting the distribution of flowering plants, vertebrates, butterflies, and beetles throughout the Salzburg region.
