Schloss Riegerting

Schloss Riegerting is a stone château on the outskirts of Mehrnbach with architectural features spanning from the 1600s onward. The building sits within a maintained park and has been modified several times to reflect the needs of its inhabitants.

The castle was first recorded in 1363 when the Zärtl family held the estate. Over the centuries it changed hands and underwent modifications as new families shaped its purpose and appearance.

The chapel at this château shows how the castle evolved from a private residence into a place open to the community. Its religious art and furnishings reflect the tastes of the families who once lived there.

The castle is located at coordinates 48.1805°N and 13.4014°E in the Ried im Innkreis district and is surrounded by park paths. The setting is rural, so visiting by car is the most practical option for getting there.

The castle once had its own brewery built in 1689 that operated for nearly three centuries. This industrial operation was a central part of the estate and shaped daily life at the castle.
