Linzer Landhaus, Renaissance governmental building in Hauptplatz, Linz, Austria

The Linzer Landhaus features three inner courtyards connected by passages, with the central courtyard displaying remarkable Renaissance arcades and a decorated planetary fountain.

The original structure, built between 1568 and 1658 on the site of a Minorite monastery, includes a tower from 1568 that received a copper dome in 1801.

The building houses the Upper Austrian Parliament and contains the Renaissance-style Planet Fountain, commemorating Johannes Kepler who taught at the Protestant school from 1574 to 1629.

The Landhaus opens for guided tours that include access to the tower, with tours available through the Linz Tourism Office at scheduled times throughout the year.

The north portal, constructed in 1565 with red and painted marble, stands as one of the most significant Renaissance portals in Austria.
