Rinterzelt

Rinterzelt is a waste management facility in Vienna where residents and small businesses can dispose of electronics, bulky items, hazardous substances, and other materials. The center accepts various waste types daily and processes them for proper environmental handling and recycling.

The facility opened in 1986 as Vienna's answer to modernizing its waste management system. This development marked an important shift toward more systematic and environmentally responsible disposal practices across the city.

The facility promotes environmental responsibility through educational programs that teach residents about proper waste separation and recycling methods.

The facility operates Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 6 PM and accepts up to one cubic meter of waste per person daily. It is advisable to arrive during less busy times or arrange larger deliveries in advance to avoid congestion.

The center operates a 48er-Tandler Box system where people can donate functional items for others to take for free. This sharing system reduces waste while allowing the community to pass along useful things instead of discarding them.
