The Trabrenngründe residential development encompasses 59 stairwells with 2,400 apartments across an area of 195,000 square meters in Vienna's 22nd district.
The land served as a trotting track from 1894 until 1963, when the City of Vienna purchased it for 28 million Schillings to construct social housing.
The residential complex features artistic elements including a fountain, plant sculptures by Hans Muhr, and steel artwork by Karl Anton Wolf in the central courtyard.
The complex includes a shopping center with a glass-covered promenade connecting northern and southern courtyards, plus educational facilities and recreational spaces.
The development consists of six spacious courtyards with residential blocks reaching 16 stories, arranged around an elongated interior courtyard system.
