Maria im Mösl, Heritage church in Lamprechtshausen, Austria.
Maria im Mösl stands on elevated ground, replacing an earlier chapel that was located in a marshy area of the northern Salzburg region.
The construction of the current church structure began under Abbot Bernard of Michaelbeuern and received consecration from Bishop Berthold of Chiemsee in 1520.
The church holds a late Gothic Mary with Child image on its high altar, installed during repairs following structural modifications in 1758.
The church maintains regular opening hours and receives numerous visitors during the Advent and Christmas seasons for religious services and contemplation.
Following tradition, each newly appointed Archbishop of Salzburg must complete a pilgrimage on foot to Maria im Mösl as part of their inauguration.
