Marinekaserne, Vienna

Marinekaserne is a former military installation located directly on the Danube River near Kuchelauer Hafenstrasse 100, displaying architectural features characteristic of 1930s military construction. The facility now functions as residential apartments following its conversion from military use.

Construction of this military facility began in 1938 under German control, and it remained occupied by Soviet forces until 1955 following World War II. These two periods shaped its initial decades.

The site is named after Admiral Wilhelm von Tegetthoff, commemorated by a memorial stone that remains visible on the grounds. This naval connection shapes how residents understand the place today.
