In 1585, Duke Albrecht V of Bavaria granted the property to his chamberlain Hansen von Grebmern. This gift marked the start of its conversion into a noble residence.
The building demonstrates typical features of Austrian noble residences, with its design reflecting local Upper Austrian architectural traditions.
The château is located in the Ried district and underwent major renovation work. These comprehensive repairs have ensured the building remains in good condition today.
From 1919 onward, this château served as a recovery home for children, reflecting a purpose far different from its original aristocratic use. This transformation reveals how the building gained new importance for families in need.
