In 1585, Duke Albrecht V of Bavaria gifted Neuhaus to his chamberlain Hansen von Grebmern, leading to the castle's transformation into a château.
The structure represents the architectural patterns of Austrian noble residences, with its design reflecting regional building traditions of Upper Austria.
Located at coordinates 48.2552 latitude and 13.314 longitude in the Ried district, the château underwent complete renovation between 2000 and 2005.
From 1919, the château served as a children's recovery home when it was transferred to the Railway Workers' Children Foundation Jubilee Trust.
