Welios

Welios is a science museum in Wels that features more than 150 interactive exhibits spread across roughly 3,000 square meters of space dedicated to natural sciences and technology. The displays are designed so visitors can try out and understand various scientific concepts hands-on.

The museum started operating in 2011 as Austria's first science center of this kind. The idea came from the Exploratorium in San Francisco, which had created a model for interactive science education decades earlier.

The exhibition focuses on renewable energies through hands-on activities, showing Austria's commitment to environmental education. Visitors can directly experiment with technologies that matter for a sustainable future.

The museum has a special area with optical illusions where visitors can experience fascinating visual phenomena. Additionally, there is a flight simulator where one can try the sensation of flying.
