Schloss Rodaun

Schloss Rodaun is a three-story château at Willergasse featuring irregular architecture created by additions from different periods. The property includes extensive grounds with baroque tree-lined paths and multiple teaching spaces spread across its floors.

The château was first documented in 1405 as 'vest Radaun' and experienced major changes during the Turkish siege of 1529. Renaissance renovations followed in 1578.

The château now houses a Catholic school center with a chapel dedicated to Saints Philip and James located in the Renaissance wing. This religious space shapes the spiritual character of the site today.

The château functions as a school campus, so visitors should check access times and entry policies beforehand. The gardens provide pleasant pathways to explore while respecting the educational facility's operations.

Architect Robert Oerley expanded the château between 1907 and 1908 with northern extensions and designed the school chapel from 1910 to 1911. These additions bridged early classical garden facades from 1776 with modern elements.
