Schloss Schielleiten, Baroque castle in Stubenberg, Austria
The yellow baroque palace stands in a 43-hectare estate with ancient trees, modern sports facilities, and multiple conference rooms for various events.
Built between 1720 and 1730 by Count Maximilian Wurmbrand-Stuppach, the palace replaced an older fortress located on the valley slopes above.
The castle library, concert hall, and ballroom host regular musical performances, including the established Schielleiten Baroque Evening concert series.
The facility offers 200 beds for accommodation, multiple seminar spaces with audiovisual equipment, and extensive sports areas for training purposes.
Since 1936, the castle has operated as Austria's largest federal sports center, hosting numerous European and World Hot Air Balloon Championships.
