Schloss Walchen

Schloss Walchen is a three-story castle with a two-story wing located in Vöcklamarkt, featuring architectural elements typical of noble residences from the 1500s. The layout combines spacious rooms for family living with adjoining structures designed for estate operations and storage.

The castle was built in 1590 and replaced an earlier fortified structure on the same site, with Hans Christoph Geymann as its first owner and builder. This shift from a defensive fortress to a residential mansion reflected changing needs among the nobility in the region.
