Capistran-Kanzel, Pulpit in Austria
The Capistran Pulpit is a baroque pulpit outside St. Stephen's Cathedral.
Commissioned by Emperor Charles VI, the Capistran Pulpit commemorates the defeat of the Ottomans.
Named after Saint John of Capistrano, a preacher who rallied the defenders of Vienna.
Located on the cathedral's exterior, it is visible without entering the church.
It features the emblem of the Starhemberg family and a relief of the Battle of Belgrade.
