Pfarrkirchen bei Bad Hall, Schloss Mühlgrub, Renaissance castle in Pfarrkirchen bei Bad Hall, Austria
Schloss Mühlgrub is a Renaissance stone building with multiple towers situated within gardens and displaying traditional Austrian architectural elements. The structure features a symmetrical facade with a prominent central entrance.
The building was initially held by Kremsmünster Abbey from 1299 onward until the Mühlwagner family purchased it in 1415 and gave it a new name. This marked the beginning of a long period under family ownership.
The castle serves as a space where visitors encounter exhibitions of regional home furnishings and traditional objects from the area. The rooms display how people lived in this part of Austria during earlier periods.
The castle is open on weekdays and also has regular openings on select weekends, offering opportunities for exploration. Visitors should check ahead to confirm which days work best for their visit.
During the 1970s, the property housed one of the world's largest filling facilities for Schartner Bombe, a regional beverage. This industrial past is no longer a visible feature of the site today.
