The Arteveldetoren is an office building in Sint-Denijs-Westrem with 28 floors and a height of 118.5 meters, making it the tallest office structure in the Flemish Region. The building provides around 20,800 square meters of office space and serves as a regional headquarters for KBC bank.
Construction of this modern tower began in March 2010 and topped out in July 2011, with the official opening taking place in April 2012. Its completion marked a turning point in transforming the former airfield site into a new business district.
The tower takes its name from Jacob van Artevelde, a significant medieval figure from Ghent, linking local history with modern banking. This naming choice reflects how the city honors its past while embracing contemporary commerce.
The building sits beside major roads E40 and B402, making it easy to reach by car. The location works well for visitors attending business meetings or exploring the modern infrastructure of the new urban development.
The building serves as a key marker for The Loop development project, which transforms the former Sint-Denijs-Westrem Airfield into a modern urban district. Visitors can witness how a historical aviation site is being reborn as a contemporary business and residential area.
