Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i s'Agaró

The municipality consists of three distinct areas: Castell d'Aro with its inland castle, Platja d'Aro along the beach, and S'Agaró residential district.

Archaeological findings in the Pinell area reveal human settlements dating back to the Neolithic period, with later Roman settlements established at Vila de Pla de Palol.

The Castle of Benedormiens, first documented in 1041, stands as a central monument representing the medieval heritage of the municipality.

The municipality population of 12,000 residents increases to over 100,000 during summer months, with most visitors concentrated in the Platja d'Aro beach area.

The Camí de Ronda coastal path, part of the GR 92 long-distance trail, connects the main beach to smaller coves through Mediterranean clifftop routes.
