Castell de Castell d'Aro

The Benedormiens Castle stands at the highest point of the village, featuring stone walls and defensive structures overlooking the Aro valley.

Dating from the ninth century, this defensive structure protected the region from maritime invasions and served as a residence for local nobility.

The castle currently functions as a cultural center, hosting art exhibitions and maintaining a collection of over 8,700 dolls in its museum.

Visitors can explore the castle grounds, museum, and surrounding medieval streets daily from 10 AM to 6 PM through guided or self-guided tours.

The fortress integrates architectural elements from different periods, including Gothic windows and Renaissance features within its restored medieval structure.
