Langreo

Langreo stretches across 82 square kilometers in northern Spain, reaching an elevation of 1021 meters within the Nalón Valley of Asturias.

The municipality developed into a substantial mining center during the late 19th century, with the establishment of coal mines and the Duro Felguera Iron Company.

The Siderurgy Museum of Asturias, housed in the former Felguera Factory, presents exhibitions about regional industrial methods and mining equipment through the centuries.

Eight administrative parishes form the municipality, including La Felguera and Sama, connected by regular public transportation services to major Asturian cities.

The Samuño Valley and Railway Mining Museum maintains original mining tunnels and railway tracks, allowing visitors to experience historical mining transportation systems.
