Santpedor

Santpedor is a municipality in the Bages region north of Manresa, nestled across hilly terrain. The village center clusters around its old church, with residential areas spreading across the surrounding slopes.

This settlement began in medieval times with the church and the original core forming around the main plazas. The medieval layout and street pattern have survived to the present day and continue to define how the village is organized.

The Romanesque church of Sant Pere and several hermitages shape how the village looks and feels as you walk through it. These religious buildings remain central to how locals and visitors experience the place today.

Local markets happen on the first Saturday of each month, where you can find handmade and second-hand goods. The walking paths through the old center are narrow and uneven, so comfortable shoes are practical.

The Bòbila wetland area harbors water birds and aquatic plants that most visitors overlook while walking the village streets. This hidden natural zone remains an important ecosystem within the municipality where wildlife thrives away from the built area.
