Jardins de Joan Maragall

Jardins de Joan Maragall is a landscaped garden on Montjuïc with ornamental ponds, flower beds, and winding paths between cypress, magnolia, and orange trees. The space centers around Palauet Albéniz and creates multiple spots for sitting and observation.

These gardens were designed for Barcelona's 1929 World Exposition and blend French and Mediterranean garden styles. They were created as part of the city's artistic preparations for the international event.

Sculptures by different artists are placed throughout the grounds, reflecting various periods and styles that visitors encounter while walking. These works create focal points along the paths and contribute to the garden's artistic character.

The gardens are located behind Palau Nacional and are most easily accessed via Avenida del Estadio. Plan your visit in advance since access is limited to specific hours and days.

Within the garden stands Palauet Albéniz, a building that serves as the Spanish royal residence during visits to Barcelona. This historic estate can be observed from outside during garden visits.
