Museu Picasso, Art museum in Sant Pere district, Barcelona, Spain

The Museu Picasso displays over 4,000 artworks across five medieval palaces, presenting a chronological journey through the artist's creative development and techniques.

The museum opened its doors on March 9, 1963, following Pablo Picasso's personal desire to establish a permanent collection in Barcelona, where he spent his formative years.

The permanent collection emphasizes Picasso's early works, including paintings from his Blue Period and his interpretations of Diego Velázquez's Las Meninas series.

Visitors can access the museum free of charge on the first Sunday of each month and Thursday afternoons, with advanced online reservations required during these periods.

The museum holds the largest collection of Picasso's academic and early career works, including his first major painting, Science and Charity, created at age sixteen.
